I heard the glass braking and the
Deafening silence that followed.
For a second I thought he had
Killed her.
I climbed down the stairs
Shaking with fear,
Expecting to see her blood
Poured over the kitchen floor.
Instead there was my own blood
When I stepped on the broken glass
I cradled my bleeding skin
While I watched her walk out the door.
